Meet the women who are behind the expansion of My Daughter's Kitchen cooking classes, now operating in five schools in Philadelphia this fall:

* Kelly Herrenkohl Director, Vetri Foundation for Children

A shared goal of improving the nutrition of Philadelphia school children led to a partnership.

Wissahickon Charter:

* Diane Fanelli

Lives in Philadelphia, a principal at SES Financial Advisors. "Cooking healthy meals on a budget is right up my alley."

* Barbara Krumbhaar

Lives in Oreland, works in employee benefit compliance. "Cooking is not just for professional cooks, and can be done at home."

Community Partnership School

* Adrian Seltzer

Lives in Wynnwood, a cooking teacher at Main Line School Night, and a former caterer. "I believe that cooking can save the world."

* Katherine Rapin

Student at Kalamazoo College, here interning at Vetri Foundation. "So much can be learned by cultivating an appreciation for healthy food."

Young Scholars

* Sue Baelen

Lives in Cherry Hill, a retired office manager, is active in Mystic Bowie Cultural Center, which is building a library in Jamaica. "My mom and aunt were great cooks and taught me well."

* Lyn Stein

Lives in Cherry Hill, retired from career counseling, a home ec major in college. "I'm known for my baking. ... I'm excited to use my home ec training!"

St. Martin De Porres

* Christine Chmielewski

Lives in Doylestown, an optometrist, also volunteers providing eye care in Latin America. "My happiest memories are cooking with my family."

* Julie Smith

Christine's daughter, a student at St. Joe's. "Cooking is an art form, as well as an expression of tradition and culture."
