Abramson Cancer Center of the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, 399 S. 34th St., 800-789-7366.
Holds support groups for patients with brain tumors, head and neck cancers, leukemia and lymphoma, and prostate cancer. There is also a support group for patients with a history of esophagectomies and their families.

The hospital also runs a series of classes and workshops on topics that include radical prostatectomies, pancreatic cancer, cancer fatigue, nutrition (both during treatment and for cancer survivors), and allogeneic bone marrow transplants. Offers a buddy program for one-on-one support by phone, a young adults' group for those 18 to 40 years old who are living with cancer or have a history of the disease, a breast cancer information and support group, a group for children with a parent or grandparent who has cancer, and a brain cancer information and support group.
The hospital also sponsors the American Cancer Society Workshops Man to Man (for men with prostate cancer or those interested in knowing more about the disease) and Look Good ... For children ages 4 to 12 who have cancer or have a family member with cancer, Gilda's Club offers KidSupport, a 10-week program. A parent support group runs simultaneously. There is also a teen bereavement group for teenagers who have lost parents or other loved ones to cancer.
