Broad Street Run 2018: Recap of the race
Live updates for the 2018 Broad Street Run in Philadelphia, taking place on Sunday, May 6.
About 40,000 runners raced down Broad Street on Sunday, with Daniel Kemoi of Elkton, Md., crossing the finish line first to win the 39th-annual Blue Cross Broad Street run on a breezy morning.
Kemoi finished the 10-mile race in 45 minutes and 43 seconds, more than a minute ahead of the second-place finisher, Geoffrey Ngetich, of Chapel Hill, N.C., who clocked in at 46:57.64.
Sophy Jepchirchir, also from Chapel Hill, claimed the women's title at 55:43.52. Lynne Nau, from Pennington, N.J., was second in 56:13.55.

Temperatures dropped and the rain held off for the runners, who started the race at Broad Street and West Fisher Avenue at 8 a.m. The run continued down Broad Street, passing through Temple University's campus, City Hall, South Philadelphia and the sports complexes before ending in the Navy Yard.
