Jamie Foxx has played an R&B legend, a tough boxing trainer, a ruthless record executive and a stern military sergeant. But Mayor Nutter has another role in mind for the Academy Award-winning actor.

Himself.

Nutter joked that Foxx should play him during a City Hall ceremony yesterday to honor the star and other cast members of "Law Abiding Citizen," now shooting in Philadelphia.

"It's a tremendous honor to have the gentleman who will portray me in a movie, which will be filmed later," said Nutter, who then presented the group with a miniature Liberty Bell while star-struck city workers applauded.

Foxx responded with an impression of Nutter that brought the house down.

"I just really want to thank Jamie Foxx for coming to Philadelphia, and it's awesome to be here," Foxx said in a nasal tone.

Foxx then praised Nutter in his normal voice, saying, "I'm ready to play you, brother, so go all the way to the top."

Ladies in the audience swooned over Gerard Butler, who played a bare-chested Spartan warrior in "300" and wooed his wife from beyond the grave in the weepy "P.S. I Love You."

Butler waxed poetic about Philadelphia's beauty and charm, before saying that he was tired of playing second fiddle to Oscar-winning stars like Foxx.

"This is my Oscar speech," Butler said, holding up the bell to applause.

According to the Greater Philadelphia Film Office, "Citizen," directed by F. Gary Gray, is about a man who seeks justice from an assistant district attorney 10 years after his wife and daughter are murdered. *
