An unidentified man was shot several times shortly after 1 a.m. yesterday on Sedgley Avenue near 25th Street in North Philadelphia.
He was pronounced dead at Temple University Hospital at 1:47 a.m.
Police made no immediate arrests.

Man dies in mowing accident
Arthur "Art" Shivers, 72, a golf-course employee in Middle Township, Cape May County, N.J., was killed Tuesday when a lawn mower fell on him, authorities said.
Middle Township police said Shivers, of Rio Grande, was riding a specialized mower at the Sand Barrens Golf Course, cutting tee boxes, when it flipped over into a sand trap.
An employee and a doctor who had been jogging nearby managed to push the mower off of Shivers.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Prosecutors say that a Slatington, Pa., man flicking a lighter to get a cat to come out of hiding from under his mother's bed started a fire that killed her.
Twenty-six-year-old Chad Lever has been charged with involuntary manslaughter in the Feb. 3 death of Lisa House, 47, who had Lou Gehrig's disease and couldn't walk without assistance.
Lehigh County prosecutors said yesterday that Lever accidentally set the blaze.
Lever called 9-1-1 after trying to put out the flames. An autopsy found that his mother died of smoke inhalation. *
