A man who was wearing two earrings in each ear is being sought in the gunpoint sexual assault of a 32-year-old woman in Center City.
The attacker approached the woman from behind about 1:30 a.m. Dec. 7 near the Central Friends Meeting House in Center City and assaulted her in a nearby courtyard, police said.
He is described as black with a medium-brown complexion, about 5 feet 9, 150 to 180 pounds, with an athletic build. Police said that he was clean-shaven and that the earrings were medium-size hoops.
He was armed with a black semiautomatic handgun and was wearing a dark, hooded sweatshirt or jacket, a white shirt and dark jeans.

Robbery is believed to be the motive behind the shooting death Tuesday night of Anthony Gibbs, 38, in West Philly, police said.
Officers responding to a report of gunfire found Gibbs at 9:17 p.m. with a bullet wound to his head.
Gibbs, who lived in Bustleton, was taken to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, where he died at 10:37 p.m., police said.

Lemuel Coleman, 23, of North Philadelphia, was fatally shot Tuesday night on the porch of a house in North Philly, police said.
Responding to a report of a person with a gun on Seltzer Street, police found Coleman shot in the head, torso and legs about 8:20 p.m.
He was taken to Temple University Hospital, where he died at 8:48 p.m., police said.
Bandit sought in car-rental heist

Police are searching for a knife-wielding bandit who robbed an Enterprise Rent-a-Car in Germantown on Monday.
Police said the man walked into the building about 12:15 p.m. asking about a rental car. He then walked out, returned minutes later with a knife, then ordered the employees to the floor and demanded money.
He got $43 and ran east on Chelten Avenue.
A surveillance camera inside the building recorded the incident, and police posted the footage in hopes that help from the public will lead to an arrest.
He was described as a dark-skinned black man in his 40s, about 5 feet 8 and about 180 pounds.
He had a scruffy beard and was wearing a black jacket over a dark sweatshirt and a black hat.
