Toddler dies after fall from Frankford apartment
Police say the 3-year-old fell three stories in what's being investigated as an accident.
A TODDLER WHO was critically injured after falling from a Frankford apartment has died of his injuries, police said.
The 3-year-old boy fell from an open window of an apartment on Foulkrod Street near Frankford Avenue about 6 p.m. Sunday. He was revived at the scene and taken to St. Christopher's Hospital for Children.
He was pronounced dead sometime late Sunday, according to Officer Christine O'Brien, a police spokeswoman.
Investigators said the toddler fell 24 feet, from the third floor. He hit the building's fire escape during the fall, and landed on the pavement in the alley.
Two adults - the toddler's aunt and godmother - and two girls, ages 2 and 4, were also home when the boy fell, according to Chief Inspector Scott Small.
No charges have been filed in the case, which is being investigated as an accident, police said.
