BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Lehigh University has suspended recognition of Sigma Chi fraternity because of vandalism at a student residence hall dedicated to campus diversity.
The Umoja House is home to 28 multicultural students. In November, it was egged and spray-painted with racial slurs.
Provost Patrick Farrell said that in addition to 10 citations filed against the fraternity, two fraternity members had been cited for violating Lehigh's code of conduct.
The Umoja House website says it was established "for underrepresented students of color" but is open to "any student who values multiculturalism."
