2 nabbed in 3 homicides

Police arrested a woman for a fatal stabbing and a man for a double shooting at a bar.

POLICE have made two arrests in connection with three homicides in the city.

Loidy Irrizarri-Marte, 23, of Godfrey Avenue near Front Street in Olney, was arrested in the fatal stabbing of Luionel Perez, 21, on March 30 on Hasbrook Avenue near Benner Street in Crescentville. Perez, who lived on 6th Street near Lehigh Avenue in Fairhill, died on the street at 5:52 that morning, according to police.

Irrizarri-Marte was arrested Friday and charged with murder and related offenses.

Police on Friday also arrested the suspected triggerman in a May 2 bar shooting at 52nd and Girard in Parkside that left two men dead and another wounded. Shaheed Warren, 33, of Wynnewood Road near Lansdowne Avenue in Overbrook, is charged with murder, aggravated assault, attempted murder and related offenses.

The men slain in that shooting, which police said was sparked by an argument, were James Byrd Sr., 52, of Hoopes Street near 51st in Mill Creek, and Dontae Brown, 27, of Frazier Street near Grays Avenue in Southwest Philadelphia, police said.

Both Irrizarri-Marte and Warren are being held without bail.
