AFTER EIGHT MONTHS, Nadia Malik's family is no closer to learning how she came to die alone and abandoned in a car near 30th Street Station.

Autopsy tests from the city Medical Examiner's Office came back inconclusive last month, listing Malik's cause of death as "undetermined," Lt. John Walker, of Southwest Detectives, said last night.

Walker said that the police investigation is ongoing. Malik, 22, was found dead Feb. 20 inside a black Nissan Altima registered to the parents of her longtime boyfriend, Bhupinder Singh.

Members of Malik's family met with investigators Friday and discussed updates in the case,Walker said. All evidence has been turned over to the District Attorney's Office, which will decide whether charges will be filed.

Meanwhile, Singh, 25, has not been charged in her death, despite the Malik family's belief that he is closely tied to the tragedy.

The Upper Darby man fled to his parents' house in Ohio on Feb. 9, the day before Malik was reported missing, police said. He was arrested there Feb. 12 on a parole-violation charge and shortly afterward was extradited back to Delaware County, where he remained in custody until May, according to court records.

Earlier this year, Khaled Malik, Nadia's brother, provided the Daily News with text messages allegedly sent by Singh through Nadia's cellphone - which he had in his possession during his arrest in Ohio - that taunt the family, saying they'll never see her again.

Singh later admitted to investigators that he sent the messages, police said.
