1 dead in West Philadelphia triple shooting

Philadelphia police said officers were called to the 5800 block of Fernwood Street for a reported home invasion about 11 p.m.
They found two victims, a 30-year-old woman who was shot twice in each leg, and a 36-year-old man who suffered a gunshot wound to a finger. Both were hospitalized in stable condition.
A third victim, a 37-year-old man, was found a few blocks away on the 400 block of South Yewdall Street, police said.
He had been shot once in the chest and once in the left hand. The man had been taken to Yewdall Street from Fernwood Street, police said.
He was transported to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 1:54 a.m. His name was not released.
While the incident was reported as a home invasion, police said nothing was taken from the scene.
The circumstances of the shooting remain under investigation and further details weren't immediately available.
