New owners for Downingtown Country Club include Jaworski

DOWNINGTOWN Downingtown Country Club has new owners: Ron Jaworski Golf and partners Ken Kochenour, Ira Lubert, and Joe Williamson.

The club joins five other courses in Pennsylvania and South Jersey that are owned and operated by Ron Jaworski Golf. The purchase price was not disclosed.

"We are very proud to add Downingtown to our outstanding collection of courses under the Ron Jaworski Golf umbrella," Jaworski, a former Eagles quarterback, said in a statement.

Downingtown Country Club has a 6,619-yard, par-72 golf course that was designed by George Fazio and constructed in the mid-1960s.

The five other clubs Ron Jaworski Golf owns are Honey Run Golf Club in York, Pa.; River Winds Golf & Tennis Club in West Deptford; Blue Heron Pines Golf Club in Galloway, N.J.; Running Deer Golf Club in Pittsgrove, N.J.; and Valleybrook Country Club in Blackwood. - Michaelle Bond
