John R. Favorite, 69, of Moorestown, was a theatrical director at Burlington County Footlighters in Cinnaminson from the 1960s into the 1980s.

John R. Favorite, 69, of Moorestown, was a theatrical director at Burlington County Footlighters in Cinnaminson from the 1960s into the 1980s.
"Sometimes he would direct, sometimes he would act," but he was better known as a director there, brother Tim said.
During those years, Tim Favorite said, "he spent some time in Hollywood."
Mr. Favorite had speaking parts in two 1975 Roger Corman-produced movies, Capone, starring Ben Gazzara, and Death Race 2000, starring David Carradine.
He also was a cast member in such made-for-TV movies as You Can't Go Home Again (1979), starring Chris Sarandon, and George Washington II: The Forging of a Nation (1986), starring Barry Bostwick.
On Thursday, May 14, Mr. Favorite died of cancer at Virtua Memorial Hospital in Mount Holly.
Born in Abington, Mr. Favorite grew up in Moorestown, graduated from Malvern Prep in 1964, earned a bachelor's degree in English literature at La Salle University in 1968, and graduated in the early 1970s from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London.
In the 2000s, Tim Favorite said, Mr. Favorite was an English teacher at Atlantic Cape Community College.
For a time, he taught adult education classes in night school for the Willingboro School District, and worked as an interpretive guide at Independence National Historical Park.
Besides his brother, Mr. Favorite is survived by brothers Rob and Paul, and a friend, Catherine Busby.
A viewing was set from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 22, at Lewis Funeral Home, 78 E. Main St., Moorestown, before a 10:30 a.m. funeral service there, with interment in Colestown Cemetery, Cherry Hill.
