SPCA rescues more than 100 cats from Pa. home

The Pennsylvania SPCA rescued 122 cats and kittens Thursday from a home north of Easton and transported them to its facility in North Philadelphia for medical evaluations, the organization said.

Acting on a tip, the SPCA and local authorities went to the home in Henryville and found the cats living in "filthy, flea-infested conditions" with untreated injuries, said Sgt. Nicole Wilson, a human law enforcement officer with the PSPCA. (PSPCA)

"The owners had planned on opening a sanctuary for cats but were unable to keep up with the rate the cats reproduced," Wilson said. The cats, most of which are kitten, will be made available for adoption after their health checks and any needed treatment.
