A Montgomery County attorney was arrested Monday and charged with raping one of his clients.
Vincent A. Cirillo Jr., a defense attorney with offices in Norristown, allegedly raped a woman whom he had been hired to represent.
Cirillo, 56, of Gladwyne, is the son of the late Superior Court Judge Vincent A. Cirillo.
The alleged rape occurred on Aug. 3, officials said, and the woman reported it to West Norriton police three days later.
Reached Monday, Cirillo said he planned to fight the charges against him.
"My story hasn't been told yet, and it will come out in due course," he said.
Nino A. Tinari, his attorney, said Cirillo plans to continue practicing law as the case against him moves forward.
Cirillo is charged with rape of an unconscious victim, sexual assault, and related crimes, Montgomery County District Attorney Risa Vetri Ferman announced Monday.
He was arraigned Monday before District Judge Margaret Hunsicker and posted $100,000 bail. - Laura McCrystal
