MCCC, Ursinus agree on transfers
BLUE BELL Montgomery County Community College has signed a new transfer agreement with Ursinus College, a liberal arts school in northern Montgomery County.
The agreement allows MCCC students to enter Ursinus as juniors as long as they finish an associate's degree with a grade-point average of 3.0 or higher.
For schools that don't have such agreements, incoming students may not receive full credit for their community college courses.
Of those who complete an associate's degree, 70 percent transfer to a four-year school, according to MCCC.
"Since its inception, Ursinus has the philosophy of creating a wider bandwidth of opportunities, like this one," said president S. Brock Blomberg. "This is the first articulation agreement with any community college, and we're glad it's with Montgomery."
MCCC has similar deals with nearly 60 colleges and universities, including Temple, Drexel, Villanova, Bryn Mawr, Lehigh, and St. Joseph's. - Jessica Parks
