WEST CHESTER State Sen. Andy Dinniman (D., Chester) was awarded West Chester University's President's Medal for Service last week.
Dinniman, a longtime faculty member at the university, was recognized for leadership and service to the school and students.
"Like public service, part of the joy of teaching is having the opportunity to work with a diverse group of individuals from all walks of life," he said in a statement. "I enjoy having the chance to interact with the students and young people who represent the future of our commonwealth and our nation."
Dinniman, who is minority chair of the Senate Education Committee, has directed the university's Center for International Programs and taught a course in global perspectives.
