Clouds causing delays at Philadelphia International Airport
Cloudy skies are leading to hundreds of flight cancellations and delays at Philadelphia International Airport today.
By 2 p.m., more than 350 flights arriving at or departing from the airport had been delayed or canceled, according to the flight-tracking website FlightAware.
The Federal Aviation Administration says flights were being delayed by an average of an hour and 50 minutes due to low clouds.
Holiday travelers with flights into or out of Dallas, Charlotte, New York and Newark should also be prepared for problems due to the weather, according to FlightAware.
The National Weather Service is calling for fog, clouds and a chance of rain to persist into the evening in Philadelphia, meaning travelers aiming to reach their destinations before Christmas Eve could face a rough evening.
The airport says travelers should check with their airlines for updated information, call the airport's flight-information line at 1-800-745-4282 (PHL-GATE) or check the airport website.
