Delays at Philadelphia International Airport due to fog

Some flights at Philadelphia International Airport are being delayed this morning due to fog.

The Federal Aviation Administration says an air-traffic-management program is in place due to weather conditions.

Arriving flights at the airport are seeing delays that average 36 minutes, according to the FAA.

Flights to airports in New York City and Newark are also facing delays because of the fog.

The flight-tracking website FlightAware.com says dozens of flights to and from Philadelphia have been canceled thus far today.

The airport is encouraging travelers to check with airlines about flight statuses.

The National Weather Service has issued a dense fog advisory for coastal areas in New Jersey and Delaware.

Inland parts of the region should also expect patchy fog this morning, the weather service says.
