A prominent lobbyist has been arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting a woman in Center City last month.
Andrew "A.J." Marsico, 40, was taken into custody Saturday at his apartment on the 1400 block of South Penn Square, police said.
A 27-year-old woman told investigators Marsico sexually assaulted her around 10 p.m. Aug. 21 at The Bellevue Philadelphia, located at 200 S. Broad St.
The woman reportedly told police that she and Marsico went to his office inside The Bellevue for a purported job interview after meeting earlier in the evening at a Union League event.
"My client maintains his innocence and we are continuing to review the allegations," Marsico's attorney, Fortunato N. Perri Jr., of McMonagle, Perri, McHugh and Mischak, said Saturday in an email.
A senior associate at Harrisburg-based lobbying firm Greenlee Partners, Marsico is also the brother of Dauphin County District Attorney Ed Marsico. He is married to 6ABC reporter Annie McCormick.
A.J. Marsico will be charged with indecent assault, aggravated assault, unlawful restraint and simple assault, police said.
