West Chester resident and Malvern Prep alumni Jason Buck was one of three winners of the 2007 William E. Simon Fellowship for Noble Purpose, awarded by the Intercollegiate Studies Institute.

Buck, a senior at Franciscan University in Ohio, received the $5,000 fellowship on April 14 at an awards ceremony in Indianapolis.

Buck won the award for his work with Culture of Life, Inc., a nonprofit pro-life organization that he created while in high school. Culture of Life, Inc. raised more than $50,000 last year to broadcast commercials in the Philadelphia region aimed at spreading the pro-life message to children.
