Britt Reid is expected to be released from the Montgomery County jail today and will enter a drug court treatment program.
The 22-year-old son of Eagles Coach Andy Reid has been in jail since August when he was taken into custody for a bail violation.
In January 2007, he was arrested in connection with a road-rage case. He pleaded guilty and was awaiting sentencing when in August Reid crashed his truck into a shopping cart in a Plymouth Township parking lot while driving under the influence.
He pleaded guilty in November to the road-range incident and was given a eight to 23-month sentence. Montgomery County Judge Steven T. O'Neill said at the time Reid could be paroled after serving five months of his sentence into the county's drug treatment court if he applied and was accepted.
Reid was accepted into the 15-month intensive program on Friday.
While in the program, Reid will face drug testing at least four times a week, he will be required to attend counseling and 12-step meetings, and will have to hold a job.
He pleaded guilty to the DUI charges on Jan 17, and was credited with time served.
