Police identify man found shot dead

Philadelphia police this morning identified a man found shot dead early yesterday in the city's Greys Ferry neighborhood.

Leon Williams, 26, of North Philadelphia, died of a single gun shot wound to the back of his head, police said. The wound was so small that investigators did not notice it at first.

Police found his body shortly after 5 a.m. lying next to an unattended parked car with a broken window on the 1500 block of S. Bailey Street near 26th and Dickinson Streets.

Detectives are uncertain if Williams' death is related to the apparent burglary of the vehicle.
