Lane closures are scheduled this weekend on northbound and southbound Interstate 95 near the Betsy Ross Bridge (Exit 26) for bridge deck repairs, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation said.
From 10 p.m. today to 5 a.m. Monday, two lanes will be closed in each direction. Two lanes will remain open in each direction, PennDot said, but backups are expected and motorists should allow extra travel time or use alternate routes. The work is weather dependent.
The repairs are part of PennDot's project to fix bridge decks and structural components on 17 bridges along I-95 between Girard Avenue (Exit 23) and Route 63 (Exit 35). All work is expected to be completed by August.
In addition, the left lane will be closed on southbound I-95 approaching Exit 14 (Bartram Avenue) from 6 a.m. to noon tomorrow for barrier construction. - Inquirer staff
