The death of William Wilson in South Philadelphia bring's the city's homicide total to 188 for the year so far, Officer Jillian Russell said this morning.
Last year at this time, there were 248, Russell said.
With 60 fewer deaths, the city has seen the homicide tally decline by more than 24 percent.
Wilson, of the 5500 block of Litchfield Street, in Southwest Philadelphia, was shot multiple times in the 1900 block of McKean Street around 9 p.m., Russell said.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
An 18-year-old man was shot in the left neck and right leg. He was taken to the Hospital at the University of Pennsylvania and was reported in serious but stable condition.
No arrests were reported.
