Authorities are searching for an 18-year-old Philadelphia man who police say ran from the scene of a murder with the gun used to kill a Penn Wood High School student.
Devon Lamar Ellis Jr. of the 6600 block of North 20th Street has been charged with conspiracy, robbery, assault, and other offenses in the death of Mohamed Kamara, 18, of Darby.
Kamara was shot and killed April 13 in East Lansdowne after a fight with Ellis, according to court documents. Tristin Fisher, 18, of North Philadelphia, has been charged with first-degree murder in the death. Fisher is being held without bail at the Delaware County Prison.
According to court documents and witness accounts, Kamara and Ellis were fighting when Fisher came upon them. Kamara turned away from the fight and was coming toward Fisher when Fisher shot Kamara in the abdomen and chest, documents say.
Fisher handed the gun to Ellis, who then threatened a witness attempting to help Kamara, court documents say. Ellis also took the witness' cell phone, which the witness told police was used to record a video of the fight and subsequent shooting, court documents say. The phone later was recovered by police.
Anyone with information about Ellis is being asked to call police at 610-259-2308 or 610-891-4700.
