Garbage trucks crashes into building in Montco

A garbage truck driver was seriously injured today when his vehicle crashed into a scale house at the Upper Dublin Township trash transfer station, burying him in rubble, officials say.

It took rescue workers an hour to remove the driver from the truck following the accident, about 10:15 a.m., at the facility on Fitzwatertown Road, authorities said.

The driver was taken to Abington Memorial Hospital, where his condition was reported to be serious, but not life threatening.

The cause of the crash is under investigation
