A woman's hand was amputated Monday night at Market East Station in Center City when she was struck by a train, authorities said.
A woman's hand was amputated Monday night at Market East Station in Center City when she was struck by a train, authorities said.
The woman, whose name and age were not available, was struck by a train about 7:20 p.m. on Track 3 between 12th and 13th Streets, authorities said. Train service continued or was diverted onto neighboring tracks, said SEPTA spokesman Richard Maloney.
The woman was transported by a medic unit to Hahnemann University Hospital with her vital signs reported to be unstable. Police are investigating the accident.
