Motorcycle rider dies in Center City crash

A 36-year-old man died Friday night in Center City after he lost control of a friend's motorcycle, police said.

About 8 p.m., the victim, who was not identified, was taking his friend's motorcycle for a ride when he drove up a curb at 23d and Walnut Streets and struck a pole, police said.

He was pronounced dead at Hahnemann University Hospital shortly afterward, police said.    - Mike Newall
