Except for some possible pop up thunderstorms and sticky humidity, the sun will be shining most of the time and highs will make it feel like July.
"Compared to some [past] Memorial Day weekends . . . this one looks quite nice, overall!" the National Weather Service says.
For getaway day today, there's a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms this afternoon, but it will be mostly sunny, with a high near 86 in Philadelphia and environs, according to the National Weather Service.
The low tonight will go down to around 65 and again there is a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms.
The forecast for Saturday yet again contains a chance of afternoon showers and thunderstorms, but otherwise it will be partly sunny, with a high near 83.
On Sunday, the NWS says it will be mostly sunny, with a high near 85 and on Memorial Day it will be sunny, with a high near 89.
Things look a little better - and cooler - at the Shore.
The NWS says it will be mostly sunny, with a high near 85 today, and boardwalk promenaders will be blessed with rain-free skies and a low around 66, with winds from the south between 9 and 14 mph.
