Police ID two killed in separate shootings

Police have identified the 19-year-old shot and killed yesterday afternoon on Cornwall Street near Emerald Street as Jammell St. Thomas.

Police have identified the 19-year-old shot and killed yesterday afternoon on Cornwall Street near Emerald Street as Jammell St. Thomas.

Thomas, of the 3200 block of Frankford Avenue, was shot twice in the chest while standing in the street.

Police say they have not many any arrests, and do not yet have a suspect or motive.

St. Thomas' killer is described as a heavyset man wearing a black skull cap, a black jacket and blue jeans.

He was last seen headed south on Braddock Street from Cornwall.

Also, police have identified a man slain on the sidewalk at 21st Street and Mifflin in South Philadelphia as Stephon Burton, 24, of the 1900 block of S. 21st Street.

There is no suspect or motive in the killing.

Burton died of multiple gunshot wounds to the head, police said.

Police may have video from a bar across the street from the shooting, but it has not yet been released.
