A Good Samaritan was struck by a car Sunday morning as he stopped to assist another motorist on Interstate 95 in Tinicum Township.
State police said the man got out of his car to help the other driver, who was involved in a minor, one-vehicle crash on I-95 south between Route 291 and Route 420 around 5 a.m.
The man was then struck by a passing vehicle, police said. He was rushed to Crozer-Chester Medical Center in critical condition. Neither his age nor identity was disclosed.
The driver of the striking vehicle remained at the scene, police said. It wasn't immediately clear whether charges would be filed.
I-95 was closed in the area of the crash for about seven hours as the scene was investigated and cleared. All lanes of the highway had been reopened by 12:30 p.m.
