The former Bellmawr schools superintendent was charged yesterday with forgery for giving the Bellmawr Board of Education a falsified diploma.
Deborah Monahan, 59, of Thorofare, was served with a summons this week. If convicted, she could face a maximum of 18 months in prison.
Monahan presented school board members with a doctorate diploma in school administration from Rutgers University in December.
Prosecutors said the diploma was a fake and Monahan knew she was giving the board a phony document. She resigned from the school district in January. - Troy Graham
