West Phila. rink offers free skating today

West Philadelphia's Laura Sims Skatehouse will have free ice skating, snacks and prizes this afternoon.

The event, sponsored by the Ed Snider Youth Hockey Foundation and the city's Department of Recreation, will be from 1 to 3 p.m. at the center, Cobbs Creek Parkway and Walnut Street. Philadelphia Phantoms mascot Phlex will be on hand to skate with the participants.
