West Phila. shooting victim identified by police

Police yesterday identified the 29-year-old man shot to death Wednesday morning in West Philadelphia.

James Perkins of West Philadelphia was shot in the neck, the back and one leg around 10 a.m. Wednesday in the 100 block of North Conestoga Street near Arch Street, police said. The shooting took place less than a mile from his home.

Perkins was taken to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and pronounced dead at 10:42 a.m. Police reported no arrests yesterday.
