Three dead in shootings over weekend

The weekend was marred by violence that ended in three shooting deaths Saturday, including that of a Delaware man whose body was observed being tossed from a vehicle.
Police said that shortly after 12:30 a.m., an off-duty officer spotted a vehicle traveling the wrong way in the 1500 block of North 11th Street in North Philadelphia. The officer then saw a body being pushed out a rear door before the vehicle sped off. Police did not have a description of the vehicle.
The body was identified as that of Anthony Oliver, 26, of Newark, Del. He had been shot once in the chest and was pronounced dead at Temple University Hospital about 1 a.m. No other details were available.
Then, shortly after 4:30 p.m., police responded to a call about a man found dead at a home in the 1200 block of North Hollywood Street, also in North Philadelphia. Cortez Ennis, 46, was pronounced dead at the scene after suffering gunshot wounds to the head and chest. It was not clear whether he had lived in the home, police said.
Later, after 9 p.m., police were summoned to Queen Lane and Pulaski Avenue in Germantown.
Harry Ballard, 41, who had lived nearby, died of wounds to the chest, back and arm and was pronounced dead at Temple University Hospital 30 minutes later. Witnesses said he had been standing on the corner with two other men when bullets started flying, police said.
No arrests have been made in any of the cases.
