Search continues for missing Lambertville woman

Police and dozens of volunteers continued searching sections of Lambertville, N.J., on Monday for Sarah Majoras, a New Hope bartender last seen early Saturday.

Majoras, 39, a bartender at John & Peter's, was apparently walking home after spending Friday night with friends watching a band at the bar, according to Michael Gardner, a fellow bartender reached by telephone Monday. She was not working Friday, he said.

After the bar closed, Majoras set off by herself to walk back to Lambertville, where she lives with her boyfriend, Gardner said. He added that she regularly walks home from the bar.

Surveillance camera footage from the bridge crossing the Delaware River shows her walking alone into Lambertville around 2:30 a.m. Saturday, according to Hunterdon County Prosecutor Anthony Kearns.

That was the last time she was seen. Police do not suspect foul play. They said they suspect she went missing just past the bridge, around Bridge Street and Lambert Lane.

Police said she was wearing blue jeans, a camouflage jacket, a baseball cap, brown leather boots, and glasses. She was described as 5-feet-4 and weighing about 140 pounds.

Hunterdon County Detective Ed DeFilippis said Monday that since Majoras' disappearance, authorities have had a dive team probe the Delaware River and the nearby, partially frozen Delaware and Raritan Canal; performed canine searches of the area; had a helicopter fly overhead; and worked with at least 50 to 60 community volunteers in search efforts.

Kearns said investigators have not found any evidence that could help their search, such as a stray piece of clothing or any record of cellphone calls.

A Facebook page called "Find Sarah Majoras" was set up over the weekend, where updates on volunteer efforts and messages of support were being posted. More than 5,800 people had liked the page as of Monday afternoon. People were also posting information on Twitter with the hashtag #findsarah.

Gardner said Majoras was "very loved" among the bar's patrons.

"We just pray she's OK," he said. "I don't know what to say at this point. We're worried."
