Service group to expand into county

MEDIA A Montgomery County volunteer organization is preparing to reach out to serve residents in Delaware County.

RSVP has received a grant to enlist volunteers 55 and older for service opportunities with nonprofits and schools in Delaware County.

RSVP will focus on child and adult literacy, food distribution, and senior services such as companionship and transportation.

RSVP was founded in 1973 and serves disadvantaged preschool children, at-risk youth, veterans, and retirees. About 1,100 people volunteer with RSVP to help with 200 community-based nonprofits.
