Route 42 North closing for 2 nights

Northbound Route 42 to be closed

All northbound lanes of Route 42 in Bellmawr will be closed Monday and Tuesday nights.

The closings near the Creek Road overpass will be graduated: One lane will close at 8 p.m., two lanes will close at 10, and all lanes will be shut down at 11. The lanes are slated to reopen at 5 a.m.

The New Jersey Department of Transportation and contractor PKF Mark III are closing the lanes to place wood sheeting under recently placed bridge beams, Camden County officials said.

During the closures, all traffic will be detoured to the Exit 1B ramp to northbound I-295, then to Exit 27 to get back to Route 42 and westbound I-76.
