GREENSBURG, Pa. - A Pennsylvania teenager has been convicted of first-degree murder in the torture murder of a mentally disabled woman whom prosecutors say the teen viewed as a romantic rival.

A Westmoreland County jury deliberated fewer than four hours yesterday before convicting Angela Marinucci, 18, in the February 2010 death of Jennifer Daugherty, 30.

Prosecutors said that Marinucci instigated the violence in a dingy apartment in Greensburg, about 30 miles east of Pittsburgh, that was shared by five other defendants awaiting separate murder trials later this year.

The defense had tried to argue that a 25-year-old roommate - who prosecutors say was the object of the Marinucci's jealousy - had been the ringleader.
