Justin Reeves, 18, of Nicetown, was shot in the head about 9:10 p.m. Thursday on the 500 block of West York Street in North Philadelphia. Reeves was pronounced dead at the scene. Police were looking for at least one man, believed to be wearing red clothing.
About 1 a.m. Friday, Calvin Edmonds, 23, of Cedarbrook, was shot in the face and chest on the 600 block of South Yewdall Street, near Cedar Street, in West Philadelphia, police said. Edmonds died at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania at 1:32 a.m.
Investigations into both slayings continued Friday. - Inquirer staff
