Body found by S. Jersey creek

Authorities in South Jersey are investigating after a body was found by Newton Creek in Camden County Saturday afternoon.

Robert English, spokesman for the Camden County Prosecutor's Office, confirmed that a person was found dead, but said he could not provide any further information.

The Haddon Township Police Department is investigating the death with assistance from the Prosecutor's Office.

The body was found at about 12:15 p.m. by the creek in the area near U.S. 130 and the Black Horse Pike. No one in the police department could immediately be reached on Saturday for further details.
