Cops: N.J. kids abducted after mother fatally stabbed

New Jersey State Police have issued an Amber Alert for two Bergen County children who were allegedly abducted by their father Friday night following the stabbing death of their mother.

New Jersey State Police have issued an Amber Alert for two Bergen County children who were allegedly abducted by their father Friday night following the stabbing death of their mother.

Police said John Jordan, 47, took his children, Anthony Jordan, 7, and Nicholas Jordan, 8, from Wilson Elementary School in Lodi, N.J.

The children's mother, 39-year-old Tracey Jordan, was found stabbed to death shortly before 6 p.m. inside the Cynthia Gardens Apartments, according to a report from The Cliffview Pilot. Though the Jordans were married, Tracey Jordan was in the process of divorcing her husband, the paper reported.

Police said John Jordan is believed to have fled in either his car, a 2007 black Honda Civic with New Jersey registration VHH37S, or Tracey Jordan's car, a gray or silver 2012 Honda Accord with New Jersey registration Z56CDJ.

Both missing children are described as white males standing a little under 4 feet tall and weighing between 50 and 60 pounds. Police said they were last seen wearing school uniforms of maroon-colored collared shirts and khaki pants.

State police also requested that Amber Alerts be activated in Virginia, West Virginia, North Carolina and South Carolina.

Anyone with information on the abduction is urged to call 911, to contact the Lodi Police Department at 973-473-7600 or to call New Jersey State Police at 609-963-6951.
