Two men killed in Phila. shootings
Killings late Thursday and early yesterday raised the homicide total in the city this year to 202. Homicide Sgt. Charles Coan said that shortly after 11 p.m. Thursday, police found Allen Jones, 35, of the Overbrook section of the city, on the sidewalk outside a house on West Juniata Street near 17th Street in Nicetown.

Homicide Sgt. Charles Coan said that shortly after 11 p.m. Thursday, police found Allen Jones, 35, of the Overbrook section of the city, on the sidewalk outside a house on West Juniata Street near 17th Street in Nicetown.
Jones was taken to Temple University Hospital with a gunshot wound to the head, and he was pronounced dead at 8:02 a.m. Friday, Coan said.
Just after 2 a.m. yesterday, police found Rashad Williams, 26, of South Philadelphia, in the 500 block of Sigel Street in South Philadelphia, Coan said.
Williams, who had been shot in the left chest, was pronounced dead at the scene at 2:15 a.m.
There were no suspects or arrests in either slaying, Coan said.
