The death of a Southwest Philadelphia woman whose body was found Monday has been declared a homicide, police said yesterday.

The death of a Southwest Philadelphia woman whose body was found Monday has been declared a homicide, police said yesterday.

Decia Carroll, 41, died after being hit over the head with an object, police said. She was found Monday morning inside a residence in the 1500 block of Lindenwood Street in the city's Kingsessing section. She was pronounced dead at the scene at 10:53 a.m.

Investigators yesterday were trying to determine motives and suspects. Additional details, such as whether the weapon that killed her was recovered, were unavailable. - Peter Mucha
