Police yesterday released the name of the 19-year-old man slain in Point Breeze on Monday night.
The victim was Allante Peterson, who lived on the 1800 block of South 23d Street, and was fatally wounded only a few blocks away, at 23d and Morris Streets. Police said Peterson was shot in the back and right side at 8:51 p.m. He was declared dead at 9:09 p.m. at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.
Police have not yet disclosed a possible motive in the slaying, and no arrests have been made.
Court records show that Peterson was awaiting trial on charges of making terroristic threats, simple assault and reckless endangerment. - Inquirer staff
