Fire on Norristown's Main Street sends firefighter, civilian to hospital
Main and Swede Streets were closed as firefighters attempted to knock down the fire, which was put under control around 1 p.m.

A firefighter and a civilian required medical treatment Thursday afternoon after a two-alarm fire broke out inside a commercial building on Norristown's Main Street, authorities said.
Fire Chief Thomas O'Donnell said the fire reported around 11 a.m. in the first floor retail space of a two-story building at 2 West Main St.
Main and Swede Streets were closed while firefighters attempted to knock down the blaze, which was put under control around 1 p.m.
An employee who was inside the store at the time of the fire was taken to a local hospital and treated for smoke inhalation, and the firefighter was treated for elevated blood pressure. Both are expected to make a full recovery.
No word yet on what caused the fire.
