Bristol Township Council president dies

Bristol Township Council President Bob Lewis was found dead in his home Sunday, officials said. The township issued a statement saying Lewis died at his home in Croydon on Sunday morning. A cause of death was not announced.

Bristol Township Council President Bob Lewis was found dead in his home Sunday, officials said.

The township issued a statement saying Lewis died at his home in Croydon on Sunday morning. A cause of death was not announced.

Lewis first served on council in the 1970s and '80s. He returned to the governing body in 2010 and was elected president in 2012.

"Bob was our historian, leader, and the captain of the team," Councilman Craig Bowen said in a statement.

Lewis is survived by his wife, Laura, and daughter, Susan.

Flags will be flown at half-staff in the township Monday.
