Pa. State Rep. Bob Godshall of Montco to retire after three decades
The representative's 18th term ends Nov. 30.
HARRISBURG —State Rep. Bob Godshall, a Republican who represents northern Montgomery County, announced Thursday that he will retire at the end of his term.
Godshall has been in the state House for more than three decades and currently chairs its Consumer Affairs committee. This is Godshall's 18th term in office. It ends Nov. 30.
"People want public officials who can make a difference, and I believe I have done that for my constituents throughout the years," Godshall said in a statement.
He added later: "I want to thank the people of northern Montgomery County for their support over the years; it really has been one of my life's greatest honors to serve and represent friends and neighbors of the 53rd Legislative District for 36 years."
Godshall's district includes Lansdale, Hatfield and Souderton boroughs, and other areas, including Franconia, where he grew up.
