Tattle: Demi-Ashton are over

ENDING WEEKS OF SPECULATION and catty comments about how thin she's gotten, Demi Moore, 49, told the Associated Press yesterday that she is ending her marriage to 33-year-old Ashton Kutcher.

The couple wed in September 2005.

"It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that I have decided to end my six-year marriage to Ashton. As a woman, a mother and a wife there are certain values and vows that I hold sacred, and it is in this spirit that I have chosen to move forward with my life," she said in a statement.

Moore and Kutcher created the DNA Foundation in 2010 to combat the organized sexual exploitation of girls around the globe. They later lent their support to the United Nations' efforts to fight human trafficking.

Demi was previously married to actor Bruce Willis for 13 years. They had three daughters together - Rumer, Scout and Tallulah Belle - before divorcing in 2000.

On Wednesday, California Judge Edmund Willcox Clarke Jr. dismissed a criminal case against alleged Selena Gomez stalker, Thomas Brodnicki, 46, saying he did not believe that prosecutors had shown that Brodnicki intended to cause Selena fear.

Actually, mental-health workers had notified authorities that Brodnicki had threatened during a psych hold to kill Selena.

"We strenuously objected" to the dismissal, D.A. spokeswoman Sandi Gibbons said.

Fast forward to yesterday when, TMZ.com reported, Brodnicki was brought in again by police, questioned and placed on a psych hold. Police were so concerned that Brodnicki did pose a threat to Selena, they had him taken to a hospital for yet another evaluation. Maybe it had something to do with his telling TMZ that the only thing he wants to touch is Selena. Law-enforcement sources told TMZ that they'd like to send Brodnicki back to a mental-health team in his home state of Illinois.

* In happier Selena news, she told Ellen DeGeneres yesterday that her 3-year-old dog, Baylor, is feeling good again after accidentally eating some rocks.

Tyler Perry is defending his decision to cast reality-TV star Kim Kardashian in his film "The Marriage Counselor."

Perry announced the role for Kim shortly before she ended her 72-day marriage to NBA player Kris Humphries.

Perry says he wanted a younger cast to attract younger viewers. He said on his website that he thinks it would be good for young people who see her as a role model to "see her in a film that is about what happens in life when you make the wrong choices." Role model?

Is it the bad sex tape? The whiny, self-centered TV series? The crazy, overpriced wedding? Is Kim K really a "role model" for young women, or just a better-dressed, better-looking Snooki?

* The trial in Tunisia over broadcasting the animated film "Persepolis" was adjourned until Jan. 23, after lawyers from both sides started shouting and cursing at each other in the courtroom. Tunisia's privately owned Nessma TV station provoked an angry reaction when it aired a dubbed version of Iranian director Marjane Satrapi's award-winning film. Conservatives objected to a scene that portrayed God as bearded, something forbidden in Islam.

As nutty as our culture wars have gotten in America, we still can say that we haven't put a TV station on trial because it showed a cartoon in which God had a beard. Janet Jackson flashing her nipple for a fraction of a second?

Now that was an outrage.
